KEVIN BROUGHT UP A GOOD TOPIC ABOUT GETTING IDEAS TOGETHER FOR THE 09 POINT SERIES. I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE GOOD TO GET SOME GUYS OPINNIONS. HERE IS MINE.

A SET NUMBER OF POINTS SERIES RACE DATES IN 09. ON IMDRA POINTS SERIES DAYS THAY CAN BE RUN ON THE SAME DAY AS A LYNWOOD POINTS SERIES DAYS. IF YOU ARE AN IMDRA MEMBER YOU EARN POINTS TOWARDS IMDRA AND LYNWOOD SERIES. HAVE A PROMOD AND DRAGSTER SHOOTOUT LIKE WE DID IN 08, BUT HAVE THEM ON SEPERATE POINTS SERIES RACE DATES BEFOR OR AFTER THE NORMAL RACE, LIKE NHRA DOES. NOT EVERYONE CAN MAKE EVERY POINTS RACE, SO IN ORDER TO BE COMPETE IN THE POINTS CHAMPIONSHIP YOU SHOULD HAVE TO RUN 75% OF THE RACES. SO BASICALLY THERE WOULD BE A SET NUMBER OF THROW OUT'S FOR EACH RACER.

AS FOR POINTS IT COULD BE SIMPLE, #1 QUALIFIER EARNS 5 EXTRA POINTS FOR THE TOP SPOT. EVERYROUND WIND COULD BE 20 POINTS. PRETTY SIMPLE, I THINK.

???? Why limit shootouts to just dragster and promod , why not have an open class for funnycar too ! and pro-stock also .

I agree P/M27, Thats a good idea. I beleive that in order to make these races successful the racers are going to have to get with the program as-well..........that means showing up to the track on time and get your testing and tuning done so that the regular program can start and end at a reasonable time. Theres always time for Grudge Runs after the program is completed. I am confident that it can be done. We have a great bunch of guys that are serious and can make next year a great one.
Hey Fly I don't think P/M27 meant to exclude the Funnies or Pro-Stocks, he was just useing what was run last season as an example. Hey by the way get that Funny ready for action....we didn't see it run all summer! Gotta come out to get a class together!

LOL we can still joke around in here right ? by the way I was supposed to get some instructions from you and never did .

Like Rey said, I just used the Promod-Dragster Shootout as an example. I definately think the program has to be a little more organized. You should have to sign in and list your class before your get on the track. This way it gives who ever is setting up qualifying and brackets plenty of time to get them done. There is no reason if qualifying is at 12:00 that a qualifying list can't be posted around 11:00 and that gives everyone an hour to be ready.

True , that does sound right to me , some guys would wait until they were ready to make their qualifying pass . I hope things run as smooth or smoother than the early part of the season . I think rey did a great job of straightening out some of the chaos last year, and look forward to seeing whats in store for the new season !!
