Cubby- Yo hey ya Charley… thanks for the email and guess what? I am naming yours as “Letter of the Month”. You know what that means right??? Shoot me your snail mail and sizing info for a quite uber BigSquidRC t-shirt.

So who do I want to win? Well, March Bashness isn’t about me, that’s for sure, it is all about you and the rest of our readers. You guys do the voting and you guys pick the winner. As I write this, the Losi 5IVE-T is leading the final round with 1,540 votes, while the mighty Traxxas X-Maxx has 1,207. As far as which of those two trucks I personally like better, I would probably have to vote for the Losi. Ya sure, the X-Maxx is setting the world on fire right now, and ya, it is a solid basher in stock form, but once you bring the power up to snuff with something like Castle 2028 system, it likes to break (all the time). I have gotten in a LOT of trigger time with the X-Maxx, and I do have fun driving it, but I don’t have fun wrenching on it constantly (something the aftermarket is soon to solve).

I don’t have nearly as much time in with the 5IVE-T, but I have driven one enough to know that it handles really well and the stock engine has more than enough yank to be fun. And while it can break, it takes some pretty serious bashing to do so. To boil it down, both would be worthy March Bashness Champions, I can’t wait to see who you guys vote as the winner later tonight!!!

But I do have a question for you, who do you think is the greatest rc driver of all time, other than yourself of course.

Who do I think is the greatest rc racer of all time? I would like to say that is a very hard question, but to me it is not. The answer for me is easy, Brian Kinwald. He was simply so dominant at a time when there was such stiff competition, and when he was on, he was absolute perfection. And, he is still going at it. He might not be quite as fast as he once was, but he would still pwn you or me without even trying hard.

Now as far as just current racers go… that is a tough one, but I think gotta go with Kyosho’s Jared Tebo. I pick Tebo because not only is he a world championship threat in 10th scale, but he is also one of the very elite in 8th scale nitro. While both are raced on dirt (sometimes… LOL), they are very different disciplines, and Tebo is elite at both. Also, he has the raw speed to run anyone down, while having the type of temperament it takes to be a world champion.

There are tons of great arguments for other drivers (all time- Johnson, Masami, etc), but hey, you asked me personal opinion, so you got it.
