Charger Shootout – Model Memory
Model Memory
While not the most important category in the shootout, it is really nice to be able to program multiple memories. All of the chargers claim 10 or more model memory. While this is the case, some of them are a little more painful to work with then others. For example, the *FMA CellPro 10S, you can only change two of the memories from the actual charger. To add/change the other 8, you need to use the PC interface. So while they do indeed have 10, I can’t do it in the field.
Points | Manufacturer/Charger | Model Memory |
---|---|---|
1 | Hyperion 720i | 20 |
1 | Hyperion 615i Duo | 20 |
3 | Team Checkpoint TC1030 | 10 |
3 | FMA CellPro 10S | 10* |
3 | Venom Pro Plus | 10 |
3 | Duratrax Onyx 220 | 10 |
The Hyperion’s jump out with the big 20 memory settings. Many would argue that this is a bit overkill, but for people like us with a ton of different types of packs around, it’s nice to have. Many times 10 is just a little short.
Remember: The tests are all scored by points, lowest to highest. The lower the score the better, like a game of golf.
