EVERYBODY’S SCALIN’ – CROSS RC EMO X BODY.

The Cross RC EMO X has more than proven itself worthy on the trails. But after going through a Big Squid RC Review, the original body has seen better days. We got our hands on a fresh new body for the EMO X and had to show the abused rig some love.

The body came pre painted and cut out. I didn’t like the look of the painted fenders, so I taped them off and used some black Plasti dip. Lately I can’t get past clear body lines, so I took a fine line sharpie and filled them in. the EMO X has some deep body lines, allowing the marker to stay on track and not slip out of the groove. When it does run away from you, and it will, A little Goo Gone will erase the mistake. Doing the body lines make the defining shape of the body pop, adding a better scale appearance.

Transferring over the lights wasn’t as bad as I thought. Our good buddy RC Everyday happened to be at the Squid Farm, so I put him to work on the lights and hardware. One thing that I wasn’t a fan of, was the way you are supposed to attach the latches, gas cap, and a few other parts. They want you to melt the tabs to the inside of the body, in turn getting the part to stay in place. A lot of things can go wrong when dealing with heat and Lexan. They really don’t like each other for one. You could melt, or warp the body, or even get a little burn. All around, not a good way to attach parts. I went with my trusty Gorilla Glue, and that did the job.
