Horizon Hobby Booth At The 2016 HobbyTown USA Convention
Also in attendance at the 2016 HobbyTown USA Convention were the good folks from Horizon Hobby. You know Horizon from such names as ECX, Losi, Spektrum, and Blade, and their booth/room was filled with all the latest in rc goodies.
Upon entering the room, the new 1/5th scale Losi Monster Truck XL could not be missed. These are in stock and shipping right now, and yes, they are absolutely HUGE in person. Losi also had the 1/10th scale Baja Rey on display, which is perhaps one of our favorite scale trucks on the market right now. The latest version of the Vaterra Ascender, the 1972 Chevrolet K10 Pickup was also in the house to show people just how scale the Vaterra line can be.
Horizon has been big into the quad/drone/FPV market lately and they had a ton of that type of gear on display. From Fat Shark FPV googles, to racing air frames, to noobie RTFs, the four propped scene was well represented in the booth.
We know that airplanes aren’t for everyone, but they sure can be with HobbyZone’s Champ S+. Chris, the rep from Horizon, explained that even us old surface guys can easily learn to fly with that airplane. The Champ S+ uses the high tech SAFE technology from the quad world to do a number of incredible things- it has three different flight modes and it can even land itself! Horizon has obviously been working hard to bring the fun of hobby grade rc to the masses.
The BigSquidRC Bash Crew would like to thank everyone in the Horizon booth for being so nice and showing us around. If you would like to learn more about all of their products simply head on over to the Official Horizon Website.
