Monster Truck Madness: BIGFOOT Open House Coverage
It’s Tuesday and I’m still recovering from Saturday’s BIGFOOT Open House. That means it was a good day!
The day saw several full size monster truck car crushes, some retro monster truck racing, lots of show vehicles and a big r/c solid axle monster truck race!
We had a 2 hour rain delay, but the moment the skies let up the trucks were back on the track. It definitely made for some quickly changing track conditions, that’s for sure.
The r/c’s had a crowd all day and it was a lot of fun with some great competition. It’s hard to find a big monster truck event that doesn’t have an r/c monster truck component attached to it, and it’s awesome seeing both scales become so intertwined with each other.
We had 62 entries across the 3 classes, with the winners being Brian Beaty in Outlaw Retro driving Big Boss, Tad Goad in both Sport Modified Racing and Pro-Modified Freestyle with No Problem, and JConcepts owner and president Jason Ruona taking Pro-Modified Racing in the Summit Racing BIGFOOT, which was sporting a hot-off-the-mold JConcepts Ford Raptor Racer body.
Special thanks go to JConcepts for sponsoring the r/c event, Trigger King R/C for sanctioning and running it and, of course, BIGFOOT 4×4 for giving us a great platform to showcase r/c monsters to the public.
The planning for next year’s event has already started! Until then, enjoy a bunch of pictures.
