Monster Truck Madness – Cross R/C Announces a Tractor?
Hello everyone and Happy Thursday!
So Cross R/C announced a product that’s a bit out of left field, but one that I’m VERY excited for- an r/c farm tractor!
The Cross R/C Ironbull TL4 Tractor. The photo above is from the Cross RC Facebook page, and you can find a video announcing the tractor right here.
Not a lot of info is out there on it at the moment, but it looks sweet!
I’m pumped. A working scale farm tractor has been at the top of my r/c request list. As a full size tractor nut, I’ve often wondered the last few years as scale construction equipment / trucking has totally blown up how scale farm tractors still aren’t a thing, but thankfully that looks to be changing.
LESU recently announced their own farm tractor, the 1/16 Aoeu 1050, awhile back. Admittedly I’m not very familiar with that brand. 1/16 also seemed like it was a bit small for the price too, IMO. I understand that 1/16 is a very important scale for farm toy collectors and it’s also not wildly out of scale for those into r/c construction, but for me it didn’t really do it.
The photo above compares the Ironbull to a Cross R/C AT4, which is a 1/10 scale scale crawler. It looks massive next to it, so I’d guess we are around 1/8-ish in scale and as someone who’s primary interest in building one of these tractors is to have fun mulling about with it around the house in the garden, I appreciate the bigger size.
In the video you can see what looks like a pull-behind wagon and a front dozer blade. You can also see what looks like a 3 point hitch on the back, so hopefully some other implements will be offered like a plow.
Cosmetically, a licensed John Deere or Case IH would’ve been really cool, but it looks good enough!
I’m a big fan of Cross RC products. I love my HC-6 converted logging truck. The thing is an absolute monster. I have buddies that own a BC-8 Mammoth and UC-6 which are both complete beasts. A BC-8 is high on my bucket list of r/c vehicles to own, in fact. Because of my experience with the brand, I have confidence that the Ironbull is going to a lot of fun. I look forward to eventually building one!
No ordering or pricing info is out there as of the writing of this, but Cross R/C is expected to post that information soon!
Ok, that’s it for me this week. Until next time, keep it on all 4’s!
