Monster Truck Madness – Horizon Hobby RC Fest and the BIGFOOT 4×4 Open House
Hey folks, hope your week is treating you well! It’s going to be a very busy September, and I wanted to share a few places where you can come out and get dirty with fellow monster truck fanatics!
This weekend myself and the entire Big Squid Crew will be at Horizon Hobby RC Fest taking place in Eli Field in Monticello, IL. I’m going to be there on Saturday 9/11, but Brian and gang will be there on Friday 9/10 as well. I’m hoping to enter the Arrma Outcast into the r/c Sumo contest on Saturday, so good luck if I happen to line up against you!
Please make sure and say hi if you see me! This will be my first trip to Horizonfest, and I’m excited.
Coming up at the end of September, September 25th to be exact, is the BIGFOOT 4×4 Open House in Pacific, MO.
My club Trigger King R/C will be sanctioning our annual solid axle race, as we have in the past. We will offer 1 racing bracket each for Outlaw Retro, Sport Mod, Mod Losi LMT, Pro Mod and Freestyle. We will also be doing a Show-N-Shine competition for BIGFOOT-only trucks and will have some giveaways throughout the day from JConcepts. Judging for the S-N-S will be done by the racers. If you enter a truck to race, you can judge. Cost will be $10 for each truck, with a max of $30 paid.
9:00 – Gates open
9:30 – Show-N-Shine begins
10:00 – Racing starts
We will break for the BIGFOOT car crushes, and lunch if we have time.

For those that haven’t attended BIGFOOT Open House before, it’s an absolute blast. The r/c monster trucks get to race for big crowds of spectators and there is always a lot of full size monster truck history on display. The BIGFOOT team has various trucks performing car crushes for the crowd, and in the last few years there have also been other vehicles making appearances.
