Monster Truck Madness – R/C Monster Truck Racing at the BIGFOOT 4×4 Open House!
Happy Thursday all!
We are just over two weeks away from one of my favorite events of the year- the BIGFOOT 4×4 Open House!
Taking place on Saturday, June 15th from 10AM to 3PM, this free event is hosted by the BIGFOOT team at their shop in Pacific, MO. Modern and classic monster trucks will be on display and performing, with the big attraction being a tribute to legendary driver Dan Runte with a freshly done up BIGFOOT #14 (the jet jump truck) sporting two classic paint schemes (at once!) that Dan ran throughout his career.
It’s looking like the original Snake-Bite (BIGFOOT #4) and BIGFOOT Ranger will also make public debuts after fresh restorations!
There will also be old school monster trucks doing car crushes, a ride monster truck and a slew of current and past BIGFOOT personalities. I’m sure there will also be some surprises!
As it pertains to this space of the Internet though, I will be helping the Trigger King R/C crew put on our annual solid axle monster truck race! The JConcepts gang will also be on hand showing off their latest r/c monster truck offerings!
We will be holding elimination racing for 3 classes of rc solid axle monster trucks, Outlaw Retro Clod, Sport Modified, and Pro Modified. You can find the rules here. We will also be hosting a Show-N-Shine contest to be held before racing.
The schedule for the r/c racing is as follows-
Judged Freestyle will end the day after all classes have raced, and drivers can pick a single truck to use as their Freestyle vehicle.
We will be finished by 3PM at the latest, which is the official end of the Open House festivities.
Drivers are limited to 1 entry per class due to time constraints, and it’s $10 entry fee per class.
The day is a ton of fun and you will be racing your solid axle monster truck in front of a large crowd, helping to show off the hobby!
If you have any questions pertaining to the r/c monster trucks at BIGFOOT Open House, please send an e-mail to doug@bigsquidrc.com!
I hope to see ya in two weeks!
Until next time, keep it on all 4’s!
