Monster Truck Madness – Support Local Hobby Shops with an Autographed Grave Digger SMT10!
I had planned on providing an update this week on my new Tamiya Clod Buster, but instead I wanted to use this space to promote something cool that our friends over at Horizon Hobby and Axial are doing.
It’s a tough time for everyone right now and as if local hobby shops needed any more stress than normal, this whole ordeal has hit them very hard.
Horizon Hobby started a “Support My Local Hobby Shop” fundraising initiative to help the brick and mortar retailers that are the life of this hobby. They are doing a bunch of cool things within this, but I want to talk about something that’s pertinent to the r/c monster truck world.
Here’s the info, straight from the horse’s mouth-
Horizon Hobby Charity Auction – Axial SMT10 SIGNED Grave Digger Truck by Dennis, Adam, and Ryan Anderson!!!!
As you know, the restrictions that currently prevent brick-and-mortar hobby retailers from normal operation have threatened their ability to support themselves and their families. Those shops are always there when we need them, with great products, expert advice and on-the-spot support. Now, they need us.
It’s time to pitch together like we always do when a member of our RC community needs a hand. Horizon® Hobby is therefore launching a special fundraising initiative to help our retail partners through these difficult times. We’re asking you to join us in getting the word out to members of the RC community everywhere.
This fundraising campaign ends on June 1, when all net proceeds will go directly to Horizon Certified Partner™ Hobby Shops.
We’ve made it very easy for RC enthusiasts and friends to lend a hand. In addition to the auction, a new web page at HorizonHobby.com is taking donations and offering merchandise for sale that lets everyone show support for their local shops. All proceeds go to this important fundraising effort. Click on the link below today and place your bid!
That’s a really cool piece of memorabilia for you Grave Digger fans, and it will go right to helping out local hobby shops.
Hey, while we are talking about this, I would urge you to try and support your LHS during this time if you have the means, whether it’s a kit, a can of paint, electronics…or an Axial SMT10! Speaking of that, I am going to put my money where my mouth is and call ahead to mine for curbside pickup as my Clod is in need of a servo and bearings!
I’ll return next week with a build update and Viewer’s V-Treads. Until then, keep it on all 4’s! Oh, and be sure and check out BSRC tomorrow for the debut of a new column I’m writing!
