Raging Rotors Road Trip: Horizon Hobby

Hey guys, sorry for the missing a post last week, but I got an opportunity to visit the team over at Horizon Hobby for a couple days to try out products, see coming releases, and discuss the hobby industry in general with owners of Horizon Certified Partner hobby shops (to which I am a member of one). It was an fun few days, so click Read More to see what I have to say about my trip.

Overall, I wish I could say a whole bunch. There were a lot of coming products for this holiday season that will be great for beginner and experienced pilots (and drivers). My fellow visitors and I drove cars, flew planes, and had a lot of laughs as we experienced interactive tutorials and interesting lectures from Horizon Hobby products managers, developers, and other staff.

Not like I need to say this, but the consensus between all the shops is multirotor is here to stay (insert happy dance). Granted, this has opened up the Pandora’s Box that is the FAA vs FCC vs AMA debate, but there is now a lot of new blood entering the hobby world, and it’s great to see in this struggling economy.

I have a ton more pictures than what you see here, as well as a few videos, but I promised to say/show nothing until the official announcements. I can say that this will be a bad year on my wallet, unless Brian gives me a raise ( hint, hint).

I would like to thank Christy and all the members of the Horizon team for putting the event together. It was a great time and cannot wait for another opportunity to visit!

The Dromida Ominus review period continues, iHobby is going to be amazing (as I will be there!!), and after that fun SquidInk (from last week) and Cubby’s big news of today the blogs will be all a twitter for days.
