THE Cub Report – All Hail Hypnotoad
Well hello there fellow rc fanatic, thanks for joining us at BigSquidRC. As the roaring 20’s kick into action, the rc world seems stoked for a good run in the 2020’s. What’s up first this week? Lets find out shall we???…
First up is… National Hobby Month! The folks over at the HMA (the Hobby Manufacturers Association) worked up January as National Hobby Month a while back and now are promoting it. In rc, the fall/holiday season is big for sales, as are the months around tax season here in the states (Feb-April’ish). National Hobby Month is a huge push by our entire industry to raise awareness about the high points of hobby, to help get more people into local hobby shops. As you’ve seen on our front page, companies from Horizon Hobby, to Traxxas, are helping with this push, just as we are here at BigSquidRC. As a consumer, feel free to mention on your social media something about hobby month to help spread the word to your friends not currently into rc. You and I already know just how safe/awesome rc is, lets help other people find the fun too!
On a different note…
How about those rc trades shows? Well, the latest is that the Denver Rocky Mountain Expo is no more, and that RCX will be making a big return this spring. The Rocky Mountain show was loads of fun, but two consecutive years of 70+/sunny weather was a crusher on its foot traffic. Our friends over at Air Age/RC Car Action have booked the Fairplex in Pomona California on the weekend of April 25/26th to host RCX 2020. Yes, the BigSquidRC Bash Crew is stoked and can’t wait to get back out to SoCal for another industry show. We will post more info as we know it, but for now, if you are a hardcore rc’er, make plans to hit southern California this April.
Speaking of trade shows, the BigSquidRC Bash Crew will also be in attendance for the Ultimate Scale Truck Expo coming up Feb 21-23 in Williston Florida. All the big hitters of the scale crawling world will be there, as will Jeremy our scale specialist. Last year was BigSquid’s first year at the USTE, with 2020 being its 4th year in total. The USTE has loads of scale crawling, plus a slew of scale manufacturers on-hand to show off their latest products. Once again, if you are a hardcore scaler, why not make plans to head south to check out what is easily one of the biggest scale crawling events of the year?
OK folks, that’s all I got for ya this week. As always, get out and support your local hobby shops and bash spots when ya can.
