The Cub Report – Hints, Allegations, and Things Left Unsaid
Hello there rc people, as always, thanks for clicking over to BigSquidRC. This week I am coming to you live from somewhat North of the Chicago metro area, shall we kick things off this week with some serious style???
First off, while not big “rc news”, I do feel the need to post THIS. No, you don’t have to click over, the link goes to an article talking about a garage fire in Montreal that involved a Hyundai Kona EV. The article talks about how the electric vehicle may have exploded so violently that it blew the garage door off the house. Needless to say, when glancing over the article, I couldn’t help but to think of all the guys in rc. Like, all the guys who use ammo boxes to hold their Lithium batteries, but may not know that the box NEEDS to be vented. Be smart, don’t keep your LiPo batteries in completely sealed enclosures.
He we go folks, is someone about to go on a big roll? Axial Racing had some big news last week! Actually, with Axialfest going on last week, Axial had one of their biggest weeks in years. The crew over at Horizon Hobby have been working hard on turning things around at Axial. Things like that definitely take time and this week has been very impressive! Most of the Axial Racing fan boys were digging their new SCX10 II UMG10 RTR, and to the guys who just don’t crawl, it still looked like loads of 6×6 fun. Oh and btw, to have a closer look at just how much fun they had at Axialfest this year, have a look at our Axialfest 2019 Photo Gallery.
Hey, also BIG in the news last week was Pro-Line’s announcement of belting up their 3.8″ Trencher HP monster truck tires. Thus far Pro-Line has only belted their 2.8″ Trenchers (review coming any day now folks, our weather sucks), but now all the big boys in the monster truck class can get themselves some belted goodness! Belted monster truck tires are a BIG deal, if you are running high cell counts, the Trencher HPs are a MUST BUY.
Oh ya, we are also currently working on the review for the Kyosho Outlaw Rampage PRO. Brian and Jeremy did a little Unboxing Video for a truck that is a unique release for Kyosho. The Outlaw PRO comes around 80% pre-assembled in an ARR form, mostly leaving the body paint up to you. It isn’t for track racing, it isn’t for roof hucking, but it looks perfect for pretty much everywhere else off-road. That review is still a couple weeks out, but so far, so good.
OK, that’s it for this week. Thank YOU for reading, and support your local hobby shops and bash spots when ya can!
