Unboxing The Vintage Series Kyosho Optima

While most boxes that we receive for review at the BigSquidRC offices are pretty cool, the one with all the Kyosho tape really perked up the Bash Crew. You see, a whole lot of us around the office have been watering at the mouth to get our hands on the re-release of the Optima 4WD Buggy Kit. Needless to say, the arrival of the Optima gathered quite a crowd around the office, just like it will once it starts hitting local hobby shops.

As you can see by the pictures, the Optima comes in kit form. And just like “back in the day”, it isn’t radically different from the original. Sure, it does come with upgrades like a slipper clutch, once piece wheels, and 48 pitch gears, but the kit still has a distinct 1980s feel to it.
